Eyarth - Exhibitions & Acknowledgements
The layout has been exhibited at Caulfield 2013, Stawell 2014, Phillip Island 2015 and Caulfield 2015.
I would like to place on record, my thanks to a number of people, without whom even this modest little layout would never have got to where it is. Obviously I would like to thank all the businesses who have provided goods and services, especially the local Melbourne model shops that I have used, Branchline, Train World and Brunel Hobbies. Hatton’s in the UK also has to be noted for its amazingly efficient mail order service. I would also like to thank David Briggs from Whistlestop weathering, not just for his amazing work but for the e-mails and occasional chats that have turned a business relationship into a friendship.
But the most important people that need thanking are those who have not received a cent. Firstly and most importantly to my wife Lesley who is so understanding of my obsession, including long periods without access to the dining room table. “So basically, you’re a train spotter” she said, after I explained my interests the first time we met. But she still accepted the invitation to a second night out!
Then there are many members of the British Railway Modellers of Australia, who have provided advice, encouragement, materials and friendship. These include Brian Frary, who first introduced me to the BRMA, Malcolm Davidson and Frank Kohek. An extra special thank you goes to Stuart Westerman, who has provided all of the above in bucket loads, as well inspiration and generous hospitality. Thanks (diolch) must also go to John Williams (from near Prestatyn in Wales) for providing the Welsh translations. Then finally to the manager of this web site Martin Kaselis, who’s venture into web site building lead me to write all of this down. GB.
